School of Health Sciences 'Ice Cream and Impact’ event
Monday 31st July 2023, 10:00am
Please join the School of Health Sciences ‘Ice Cream and Impact’ event on Monday 31st of July (10am -1pm) in Building 100.
The Research Excellent Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions and the school has had an excellent reputation in these submissions, with a top three ranking in both 2014 and 2021. For the purposes of the REF, impact is defined as an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia. These were all evidenced in the recent REF impact case submissions, achieving 3-4* ratings.
The event on the 31st of July will be designed to provide an informal environment for all staff to think of their REF impact. This is open to all members of Health Sciences who feel their work makes an impact. There will be opportunities to talk to members of the teams who submitted the most recent impact cases. In addition, a talk from the Faculty Research and Enterprise Officer, Natalie Tijou, will detail the funding and training opportunities available to all staff.
Please find more details and sign up for the event using the following Eventbrite link.
