Introduction to Hospital Episode Statistics

This online course will provide participants with an understanding of how Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data are collected and coded, their structure, and how to clean and analyse HES data.
The course consists of a mixture of lectures and practical sessions.
It is being run by the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM), which is based in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Bursaries are available to cover course fees for research staff.
The course is part of NCRM's ongoing research methods training programme, which includes around 50 short courses on a wide range of topics.
