World Hearing Day 2024 Event: Living & Ageing Well with Diabetes

Thursday 14th March 2024, 1:00pm

Join us for a fascinating discussion of the links between diabetes and hearing loss.

Diabetes and hearing loss are big health challenges. They affect the lives of millions of people in England and many millions around the world. The evidence is that older people with diabetes are twice as likely to experience hearing loss. We will delve into the latest research findings and discuss the implications for living and ageing well.

The event will have inspiring talks from cutting-edge researchers in the field and the National Charity Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).

The event will give you the chance to connect with others who share your interest in this topic, engage in meaningful conversations, and explore potential collaborations. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to join an interactive session where you can share your insights on why understanding the connection between diabetes and hearing loss is crucial for individuals and their families.

This event is co-organised by the Centre for Research on Ageing and the All EARS Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) group at the University of Southampton and is registered with the World Health Organization (WHO) as part of the international series of activities for World Hearing Day 2024, themed ‘Changing Mindsets.’

Please reserve your ticket on Eventbrite. There is no charge to attend, but places are limited.

We will provide a free light lunch and refreshments.

Please inform us of any dietary requirements during your registration.
